Will I be able to retrieve the ball?
Yesterday I dropped a bombshell and I am having second thoughts about whether or not the person who received it will do more drinking, become extremely sad or do something drastic...
I will have to make a return visit and do damage control. Or the bomb squad (me) is just overthinking. I do mistakes and I sometimes take a lot of afterthought. The drama queen part of me keeps taking center stage and I am regretting it until I see what I've done is redone. I need a restart or reboot....

Why don't you check with that person and see. Perhaps just give a call or something like that, then you will have an idea of what happened!!
we aren't responsible for how others react but we are for what we say.
hope it turns out ok.
@Mal_P - She has no phone, but I see that I underestimated her stability, she is bouncing back even though she was slightly deflated.
@Babyboomerjill - According to confucius way we are responsible for how people react to us. There are different levels of where we ignore others and other levels we are a bit obsessive. I try hard to match material things to people (I don't expect gifts back but to receive something that you desire or could use is a great gift.)
@PPhilip - that is why I usually ask people -what do you want for a gift?
Then you should just reboot.
This might not apply, but recently I asked advice from my doctor as to whether I should send my estranged daughter a birthday gift. I usually get hurt if I contact her. His reply was that it was alright to contact her as long as I did not expect the answer I wanted. I applaud you for your caring. We need more of that in our present polarized world.
