Why would an independent woman need a man anyway? An insecure man would accept that statement too easily and an over confident man would take that as a challenge. Sure Lust drives a lot of men to marry any woman but supposedly men are also using their intellect too.
In a real simple society, people just get to know another person and just move onto more things together. Since women like different things that men do not like, it is a wonder how the two sex ever get together. Supposedly women don't need men, they can just get the sperm and get pregnant without a man.
Supposedly men get along with their real children, but there are a lot of step dads that insist it was no major problem to raise a step child.
Would a bad relationship with a man destroy a woman?
Women seem to bounce back as gracefully as men but consider this: In a small village where everyone knows everyone the amount of shame could be too great. In addition a lot of people at work do talk about their personal life and a bad relationship could affect how co workers would view a woman with a bad relationship.
I don't know if permissive (slutty) women get more (loser) men, but I suppose the more chaste women get more respect from respectable men. There are a lot of unwritten rules but in a moral society, there are attempts to keep that society moral.
I was reading about the marriage of the Black Panther (A king in the African Marvel universe) and the strong powerful Storm. For sure she checked out Black Panther's previous loves and Black Panther was sure that she was the only woman meant for him to marry. It was romantic in that every time they made love a storm would be brewing.....
In every great love story though is a great writter. I don't think real life has a great romance planned out ahead of time but we can dream.....
Still can strong women drive away men? I would like to believe in destiny, where your intended love never gives up and romantically wins the woman's hand in marriage. Let me say that women who refuse men makes a choice, foolish women who can't see their perfect match might be foolish but get another chance to make amends and prove that they can make wise choices.

I like strong women that can take care of themselves. They don't drive me away, they don't need me. Kind of nice that way.
Strong/independent women don't drive men away at all. Yet I keep hearing "feminists" saying it is so. I believe many of them mistake being a rude/unpleasent/sexist woman for being a strong and independent woman...
I think you can be yourself in a relationship or marriage.

whoa!!!! Storm married Black Panther??? wow... :D I'm so out of touch with the Marvel World now... but I've been reviewing the 1990's XMen TV Series... that's when I first got to know of the Marvel Universe :D
