Of course you can tell if a carved pumpkin is a real pumpkin close up and in real life. However you can't tell if it is a photo trick or other photoshop tricks.
This second photo had a dog barking at me. I couldn't get the photo of the other pumpkins. From a distance it looks like a decal/painted decor but the skeleton head is carved into this object.
There are no pumpkins in the last photo. However I get to photograph the silver rose, some jewelry, acorns and a persimmon.
The top photos are of ceramic pumpkins. the middle photo is a real pumpkin.
