  • At what age is a child gay?

Today I was doing a television installation. The home had a child who did not like wearing clothes ( it was a hot day but the home had air conditioning.) and generally was a young pre school child. In elementary school age children start to act different. Some show an interest in the opposite sex, some are sex neutral and some are outgoing and some are shy.

I asked @christao408 when he felt he was gay and he wrote this blog ages ago:
There are probably others who decided to go the  route and explore both the straight and gay world. I suppose many have seen friends first hand and seen them come out of the closet and some who just be a puzzlement.

Right now in America there is no stigma of those using their left hand to write. Do you think left handed folks and gay folks should just be left alone or forced to follow the norm?

Basically give children room to grow, give them attention when they need it and clearly say to them when you are too busy to pay attention to them. However some children are blessed when parents and help are around to give them attention, children are often eager to learn even though others are too busy to give them time.

Are there still people who think lefties should be forced to write right-handed? Next thing you know, we'll be wanting to marry each other! Oh wait, my husband is a leftie too!

  • PPhilip

@whyzat - Sometimes I can write lefthanded but I bat right handed. I wonder how lefty is your husband?

my gay friends  I used to work with knew they were different but only realized after the hit puberty. I actually believe people are born Gay. I have no problems with that even though many do. They are people and I stop there  because anything else is not my buisness. :)

My dad also told me Native American Indians always had gay men and women around in their communities. I wasn't a big deal because it just wasn't. I grew up around a few gay teen girls who boarded with my family. They were nice to me but never in a bad way. no i got more problems from "straight" people.  I think i developed a better way of thinking because of that and what my dad said. They were a part of the tribe and that was all. Not a big deal like people want to make it out to be these days. Sad to see the discrimination against any people.

  • PPhilip

@Ikwa - I read Christao's story and he sort of tried being heterosexual. Also I have heard stories of men and women switching their status after divorce.

In a way human being are pretty pliable/flexible but culturally the Native Americans are very harsh on their gay members. I suppose maybe suicide rates could fall for the young people if gayness is more accepted. Native Americans do have a high suicide rate and it might be due to cultural harshness towards gays.
I suppose you've converted your husband to be less harsh or he is also stubborn?
  • Ikwa

the high suicide rate is due to drug and alchol abuses. Many in the community come from broken homes. It is all because if boarding schools. The last few generations were not mentaly there for their kids. My husband had a healthy view on life before I meet him thanks to his time in the army. He never was phobic. :)

i visited Christao which was a good post . thank you..i think people are born gay..i had two cats that were gay as the females around the neighborhood were neutered. Like in  people it sometimes depends on the circumstances..a person in prison with only their gender to deal with could evolve into temporary homosexuality..

  • PPhilip

@Ikwa - Definitely in your mind Alcohol and drugs is a more important issue among the Native Americans. I tend to agree with you.

Without the Alcohol and drug issue solved, it is hard to increase unemployment among Native Americans.
In some ways military service has been a great help for the Native Americans, maybe the military can add special services for Native Americans to cope with drugs and alcohol?
Now the Native Americans have added gambling addiction help to their list. Fortunately it is sort of funded.

I knew I  wasn't gay when I was six years old. I got caught enjoying Uncle's Playboy magazine. It was my 12th visit to the back seat of his car where he had it stashed.

For a so called "straight man" Curtis ^ "prisoneroflove" is on every gay post on xanga. Are straight people usually that obsessed with gayness???

And if we want to discuss life being rough for gay children (gay suicide) just ask Curtis about that since he is constantly bashing gay people even though the word "love" somehow got put in his screen name.

RYC- Bed bugs! Ugh. Night night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite. Used to be an old saying at bedtime.

About your post - Didn't read all the comments but even if you would happen to have a genetic predisposition either way, there is no room for promiscuity in God's word. I think being celibate would be the choice you should make. Lots of single people are happy. Marriage does not bring happiness if you are not a happy person. God made laws for our happiness. That's my belief and I'm sticking to it.

I had openly gay employees working in my large departments. I never saw any unusual issue because of them. My religious straight employees never made in unkind remarks. I had one gay employee if I had special rules for gay employees. I was shocked. I said, 'No, I don't want any employee sexually harassing another--gay or straight. I never had that problem anyway. I had a few problems with female crude jokes by hanging vulgar signs on each others cubicle. I just walked over and took them down giving every one the evil eye.

I don't know the cause and it does not matter. Romans 3:23 says it the simplist.  'All have sinned.'  All of us.  We all will give an account to God. I have my own sins to worry about.

Gay people don't bother me. I know that they themselves are going through awkwardness wondering who would accept them. That is why, I hate judging them.

Children need attention and should be given to them. That way, you would avoid them getting in to unnecessary problems.
  • christao408

@mcbery - I'm legally married to my husband, so being gay does not automatically mean that I'm being promiscuous.

  • Kiwis248
Well I'm a lefty and I'm gay. Is that a problem? Last time i check people love me because I'm me. I don't try and be something I'm not. My mother told me when i was little that i didn't like wearing dresses. She said i always wanted to go play sports with the guys when i was little. So i guess i was born gay. I just didn't new until i started going to high school. But i never told nobody. I let them think what they want. I don't have to explain who i am to people. I just have to go out there and enjoy life being me. I like your writing piece :)
  • PPhilip

@PrisonerxOfxLove - Everybody both girls and boys if breast fed should be indoctrinated to be breast oriented. So far no real studies on children who were less breastfed.

@LadyboyRevolution - In some ways both you and Prisoner of love are very similar. People have to tip toe around you guys.
  • PPhilip

@Kiwis248 - I have noticed lefties more than gays. Some of the desks are designed for righties and I have seen the contortions that lefties are forced to do in order to write. In a way I sort of want both heterosexuals and homosexuals to show restraint in public affections. Basically some folks need time to be less promiscious and confine themselves to just a small circle of sexual activities. Others will never be less promiscious. You would think homophobic folks would just love it when gays marry.

One daughter when growing up was saying she liked being female and the other probably being contrary said she like being boyish. Some girls run with the boys and visa versa for boys, but basically in this modern age more folks will claim gayness and other variants. There is more freedom of choice and more pushback. Interesting times and we'll see what the future holds.
  • PrisonerxOfxLove

    @LadyboyRevolution - I don't bash gay people.  I'm hell on stupid though.

  • Sojourner_here

Pphilip, I am glad to read your last comment. I hate it when people on Xanga start being mean.

I was privileged to be invited to a gay friend's dinner party. He is a gourmet cook and a bastion in the gay community. I have always had hilarious conversations with him and feel much loved. Whilst at this party, one man told me that he did not intend to come until my friend told him. "You've got to meet this woman!" Now that is a compliment to be prized!! I am a people lover. I don't do tags.

We are secret lovers. Don't tell anyone!

    @PrisonerxOfxLove -

Great seeing you on this gay post SEXY MAN!!
  • LadyboyRevolution

    @christao408 -

I'm legally married to my husband

I had no idea! That's why I made that ladyboy/Thailand joke. I thought I was making that joke to a straight guy with 15 kids. LOL. so the joke is on ME

I remember when I was little I was first told kissing girls wasn't ok. I didn't think my kissing was sexual in any way at the time I just loved my friends. I was in 2nd grade. We make kids sexual. It's all around now.
  • PPhilip

@LadyofWaters - As an innocent 1st grader I remember a girl whose sweater was really soft. Still really young boys and girls just have initial impressions and not much innate instincts. When the hormones kick in all sort of things happen that is environmentally and hormonally inspired.

Culturally not kissing a certain group is what some cultures teach. There are both gentle and not so gentle rules we teach kids.
  • jillcarmel

well, I started noticing boys when I was about 12yr old

I'm sure the parents might wonder when they're little but I think it would be hard to decide if they are or not.
