How VP candidate Ryan lies
How many folks here are locals in Mr Ryan's home state? Their economy is effected by lay offs of General Motors and so their elected official knows about General Motors and their lay offs.
There is a General motors plant in Mr. Ryan's home state and he knows exactly how their plant got shut down. He also knows before Obama was elected President that his home state plant was shut down.
Here is a statement by Ryan: ""I remember President Obama visiting it when he was first running, saying he'll keep that plant open," Ryan said during a campaign stop. "One of the reasons that plant got shut down was $4 gasoline. You see, this costs jobs. The president's terrible energy policies are costing us jobs."

The lie is the inference that Obama promised to keep that plant open. Very subtle and misleading.
Here is Obama's statement in February:"Then-Sen. Obama, who had visited the Janesville plant in February, issued a statement.
"My heart goes out to the workers and families affected by the closing of these GM plants," he said. "Today's news is a painful reminder not only of the challenges America faces in our global economy, but of George Bush's failed economic policies." He finished by pledging to help domestic automakers "with the funding they need to retool their factories and make fuel-efficient and alternative-fuel cars. And we'll invest in efforts to make sure that the cars of the future are made where they always have been -- in the United States."
The article I gave the link to just states plain facts. You see the context, the time line and the truth speaks for itself.

exactly. Ryan called that plant shutdown "a broken promise by Obama" when the truth, which he knows, is the plant shut down while Bush was still i office. Ryan is a spineless coward and yes, a liar many times over. in fact since Romney announced Ryan as his VP pick the two of them have been caught in 11 lies. that's 11 lies to the American people in one week.
@TheSutraDude - Oh the irony, In Canton(named after a city in China) Ohio Ryan told this lie:
CANTON, OH — ‘In his first remarks touching foreign policy since
becoming Mitt Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan had tough words for China
in this manufacturing-heavy battleground state’.
“They steal our intellectual property rights. They block access to their markets. They manipulate their currency.”
‘He continued, “President Obama promised he would stop these
practices. He said he’d go to the mat with China. Instead, they’re
treating him like a doormat. We’re not going to let that happen. Mitt
Romney and I are going to crackdown on China cheating. We’re going to
make sure that trade works for Americans.”
‘Yet there’s one hitch to Ryan’s tough words on China, especially as
it relates to currency manipulation: The congressman, in 2010, voted
against legislation to crack down on China’s currency manipulation’.
‘Indeed, Ryan was one of 74 Republicans who voted against this
legislation that easily passed the House that year; the legislation
never made it out of the Senate’.

You're joking, right? Shall we chat a bit on Government Motors? For that matter shall we chat a bit on the lies that have been spewed from the left? Here's a lil sumpin sumpin to chew on....numbers!
http://news.investors.com/article/620090/201207271807/gm-risky-subprime-auto-loans-fuel-sales.htm
I still love you, P. I just want you to see the forest for the trees.
@Kellsbella - The timing of GM sales was great. If Japan didn't suffer damage from an earthquake, GM would not have seen such a great revival. Sure we can chat about cars. I may never drive one but I am a great observer of the auto industry.
@Kellsbella - The greatest trick ever done was by Mitsubishi. They offered cars with no money down and later payments. That year they did it gave them great sales and the year after caused them to suffer the biggest loss ever by a car company.
Never underestimate GM and its subsidary company that finances them. They offer people a no loss return the car offer that is also extraodinary. Fleet sales a normal thing to buff up numbers of cars sold has been low, the car companies have to use other tricks to get sales up.
Used Toyotas have great demand. Used GM cars are not that popular in California. The used car market is still in great demand and the prices are not bad. Look out for the Koreans. They are gaining and soon will even pass American cars. Too bad they don't allow American cars into their country and we will nail them for that.
@PPhilip - P., GM is being sued by the stockholders to which it swindled! Do you not know this?
@Kellsbella - that is something of concern but it was a private industry calculated risk taken on by decision makers at GM, not the Obama administration. the term "Government Motors" is a cheap and empty talking point created by republicans in Congress or probably by Frank Luntz in coordination with FOX "News" of course. the government loaned GM money it never took over GM operations. the money was loaned with interest and has been paid back which has in turn helped lower the deficit albeit by a relatively small amount.had GM been left to disappear it would likely have been the nail in our economic coffin because of the huge loss of jobs not only at GM but the loss of jobs in a multitude of supportive and related industries. The Ford Motor Company pushed for the rescue of GM. one would think Ford would have been jumping for joy at the prospect of their biggest long-time competitor going under. instead the Ford Motor Company was smart enough to realize it not only would have meant disaster for our nation's economy but Ford and GM shared many of the same suppliers. many of those shared suppliers would have gone under with GM and those left would have had to raise prices. also with a further massive wound to our economy and its inevitable domino effect Ford sales would have dropped like a lead balloon. Ford realized all of this and was in strong support of a government rescue of GM. that speaks volumes.
I like how he also took 20M of fed money, denied it, and then admitted.
@SolidStateTheory - You got the latest, at first Paul Ryan tried to blame an assistant for approving a memo asking for stimulus money but how can someone fake a signature? Stimulus is great if you are a recipriant. Those that refused stimulus just are idiots, or do not stay in office.
@TheSutraDude - It has not been paid back. But let's get to the crux of the problem: Taxpayer money bailed out a business. That's bullshit! If you don't pay your taxes, you go to jail. If you have a failing company, you file Chaper 7 and call it a day. You do not use other people's money to support what you deem to be a worthy cause.(Much like the billions of taxpayer dollars this moron has forked out to loser alternative energy companies.) Truly, I wish you would see the light.....oh, wait, those have been banned..
Why is it that your avatar is so hawt and I still want to slide through the computer and spank you??!!
Agreeing to be Romney's running mate was quite enough to make be believe he's either stupid or greedy. He's likely both. This is a war on words mainly though. Words in the form of lies. I have not heard Obama say anything remotely untrue. He has character and integrity and will walk away with this election. So repubs should get ready for four more years of stalling the recovery. Hopefully we can make some progress in eradicating these people from the political scene.
@Kellsbella - Billions of dollars for wind turbines is not down the drain and even Republicans of those states with wind support wind as an alternative energy.
Solylyndria was a mistake because they thought silicon supplies was limited and Solyndria was using an alternative solution. No one predicted silicon supplies would not rise in prices (so one error is not a big mistake). Germany is not stupid either and have invested also in similar ventures for alternative energy. Basically China is wining in the alternative energy game, to not play or participate enables us to be technologically losers.
Lightbulbs are being phased out but basically you will still have lights. Ironically Philips is cornering the market on light bulbs. I would hope all your lighting friends help you to keep updated on the latest since it is related to your field.
Thanks for coming by, we'll have fun and light up the internet with information.
@Outdoor_Furniture_Design - This will be an election that will be an advertiser/pr dream. Already the swift boats are out to sink the Bin Ladin asasination episode. Countering the lies will take a lot of work and it will have to be timely. I wonder if Rommey will buy smarter help? Basically we will see the best election money can buy.
In a way I like a stalled economy. People are saving more and spending smarter. It will be an interesting decade.
@Kellsbella - yes most or all of it has been paid back. btw Paul Ryan voted for the auto bailout. he also voted under Bush for two unpaid for wars, Medicare D, TARP and others that are not coming to mind at the moment, all at taxpayer expense.
the bailout was a last resort after all other options were exhausted. there were no takers, no companies including Romney's Bain willing to take GM over after going through a bankruptcy filing. now, whether it's fully paid back yet or about to be fully paid back, it's with interest so in effect it's a win-win situation for taxpayers too. the economy and millions of jobs were kept afloat and taxpayer money is making interest. i wish you would see the light of day.
as for lights being banned? yeah tea party Michele Bachmann's key piece of legislation during the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression was to bring back less energy efficient lightbulbs. the American people really want to see their electric bills go up. fortunately her bill died.
if your referring to alternative energy company Solyndra, Solyndra was vetted during the Bush administration. there was not enough time for the Bush administration to push the funding through so as happens in the transfer of every President to the next, a to-do list was handed off by Bush to Obama. Solyndra was on that list. it's a shame what happened but I blame neither Bush nor Obama and if Obama had used taxpayer money to run Solyndra through a vetting process a second time when it had been done already people would have complained about that too.
much of the money set aside for alternative energy companies has not yet been allotted due to blockages in the system. as for calling these companies loser companies out of hand that is ridiculous. China, Germany and some other countries are already using alternative energy sources. they are way ahead of us in both alternative energy technology and the savings those sources bring.
@Outdoor_Furniture_Design - even republicans running for Congress or in State elections are worried and began on day two to distance themselves from Ryan and Romney after Ryan was picked.
@TheSutraDude - This whole primary has been a dog and pony show. I can't understand why the GOP didn't blow up with that motley crew. Yet somehow this party represents a lot of people in this country. I find that disturbing.
Romney and Ryan are America's two last Boy Scouts.
What more could America ask for at this moment in history? On the other hand, there is surely something wrong with Joe Biden. And Barack Obama's Regime has clearly failed.
I'm very disappointed in Romney. He knew he couldn't win, so he picked this guy? I feel so ashamed for voting for Romney in the caucus now. Atleast pick a good VP, didn't they learn from Sarah Palin? And what is this being a Morman and lying?
@PrisonerxOfxLove - Thanks for stopping by, The economy could have been really bad. Now Americans are saving money which is unique. Joe Biden has been forgiving of gays and his move made Obama more gay friendly. I trust Joe Biden and he does not lie. The twists by the spinmasters still cannot make Biden any less important.
So what will you blog next?
@hesacontradiction - I know Mormons make trustworthy FBI agents (west coast is full of them) and my old roomate was a Mormon. In fact a Mormon Church was on the same block as my old home. Their mythology is full of holes but the people of the Mormon faith are pretty nice generally.
However the nanny of Mitt Rommey was forced with a choice to be excommunicated or to follow the Church. Mitt Rommey was/still is a Mormon elder. But the pursuit of money made him turn a blind eye to a lot of things. Rommey is not a true liar but blind to a lot of things.
@PPhilip - Joe Biden just said Romney and Ryan were going to put black people back in chains and kill old ladies.
There can be no bigger lie than those, except Bill Clinton lying about never having sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky.
@brown_buffalo - it is very disturbing
btw Joe Biden did not say Romney and Ryan were going to put black people in chains. that's what FOX News and republicans trying desperately to grab at anything said in completely twisting Biden's words. Romney had sad he want's to unshackle wall street. Biden answered that by saying we need to keep the chains on Wall Street. Biden used the word chain instead of shackle. there's really no arguable difference and he wasn't discussing African Americans. he was discussing Wall Street. it shows how desperate righties are after making Romney their leader.
I don't know if anyone is surprised by him lying, lol.
Good discussion. I can't remember a time when the GOP operatives were this deceiving. You would think with all of the money that is backing Romney, they could run on a honest debate. They should simply run on he and Ryan's record as Govenor and U.S. Rep. I would really like to hear an honest account of their accomplishments from the GOP candidates themselves. As Govenor,Romney's healthcare plan was a great success, his stand on education and abortiion was very popular also. Ryan's Bill on taxing arrows was major and I understand that he signed off to bring millions home through the stimulus, very good for his District. Ryan is very much on the record on how to cut government and Medicare . They both really need to stand up for what they believe in, their base would rally. But it seems they are being advised to back away from they beliefs. Strange campaign indeed.
